A mobile hone made of recycled water bottles

w233_front_lit_tmoThe U.S mobile phone giant – Motorola, unveils its environmental friendly MOTO W233 Renew which is the world’s first mobile phone made using recycled water bottle plastics. Partnered with T-Mobile, aims to increase its ranking in the global handset market in the most recently reported quarter due to a weak product line-up. The MOTO W233 Renew is a carbon neutral phone that is made from plastics comprised of recycled water bottles and 100 percent recyclable. The objective of creating this phone is to create awareness among users about using environmental-friendly phones. The phone has earned Carbonfund.org’s CarbonFree® Product Certification after an extensive product life-cycle assessment.

“Today, natural resources, energy and time are more precious than ever before,” said Jeremy Dale, corporate vice president, global marketing, Motorola Mobile Devices. “From the product’s design, to the packaging to our partnership with Carbonfund.org, we wanted to ensure that this device makes the right impact with consumers and the environment.”

According to the data by BreathingEarth’s Flash-based simple and animated geographical visualization, it’s estimated that a terrifying 1000 tonnes of CO2 is emitted to the Earth’s atmosphere in every 5.3 seconds in the United States! Therefore, not does every company or government has a part to play in helping to save our environment from global warming, we individuals also have to try our best to solve the serious problem too.
